Although they are not licensed funeral directors, these staff members are vitally important to the operation of our firm.  These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.

Ann Marie Babcock was born in Davenport, Iowa to Jack and Ardis Babcock.  She graduated from Davenport West High School and graduated from Marycrest College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work.  Ann was employed at the Royal Neighbor Home in Davenport and the Masonic Home in Bettendorf.

She married Scott Fippinger August 31, 1991 in her home church, St. John's Methodist in Davenport.  She was employed at the Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo as Social Services Director until the birth of their son in 1994.

Ann is instrumental in coordinating activities at home with professional services at work.  Ann instituted the grief program at Fippingers in 2008 and helps wherever needed.  As their children grow and learn to fly she looks forward to an ever increasing role in the funeral homes.

Leanne McDermott was hired in 2011 as a secretary for Fppinger Funeral Home and Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Homes.  Leanne was raised in Savanna, IL. and graduated from the American Institute of Commerce where she received her legal office professional diploma.  She is married to Pat and they moved to Aledo in 1998  Leanne was employed as a legal secretary in Davenport until the birth of their first child.  She has been a stay-at-home mom to Josh, Nathan and Emily and is a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo..

Ed has been employed at Fippingers since October of 2002.  Enjoying retirement as an independant truck driver, he was employed at Preston Trucking Company and Dohrn Transfer for many years.  He is a member of the Aledo United Methodist Church and the Aledo Masonic Lodge # 252 AF & AM.  Ed and his wife Marian moved from Alpha, Illinois to the family farm Northwest of Aledo after retiring and he was employed part-time for Wal Mart in Aledo for several years.  They have two sons, Steve and David and 4 daughters, Barbara, Karen,

Ron joined Fippingers in October of 2002.  He is retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation.  In addition to working at the funeral home he helps at Meminger Metal and operates his own stump removal business.  He enjoys coaching wrestling, fishing and is a member of the First Baptist Church in Aledo.  He is married to Sharon and they have two children, Scott and Rhonda and 4 grandchildren.

Iris came to Fippingers in January of 2008 after semi-retiring from Country Bank in Aledo where she holds the position of Senior Vice President and Board Member.  She is married to Gerald and they have three children, Lane, Robin and Sean, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  Iris is a member of the Women for Women of Mercer County, the Aledo Kiwanis Club and the Aledo Exchange Club.

Ron has been with Fippingers since October of 2005.  He is retired from the Illinois State Police after 31 years of service.  Before joining Fippingers, Ron was employed at the Aledo Hardware Store for 9 years.  Ron is married to his High School sweetheart Jean and they have 3 children; Michael (deceased) Lori and Jon.  They also have 4 grandchildren.  Ron and Jean are charter members of the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Aledo.

Gary Johnson has been a part of the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Homes and Fippinger Funeral Home since October of 2002.   Gary is a resident of Woodhull, Illinois and is a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull.  He is very active and enjoys walking,golfing and bicycling.  He has three children Laurie, Andrew and Sarah and 8 grandchildren.
